What access does the app need on your device?

The app needs read and write access to your device storage, including memory cards such as an SD card. This allows the audio Bible to be downloaded, stored locally on your device and played back while the app is running. You may grant or deny this permission.

What information do we collect?

The app does not collect personal data without your involvement. When usage statistics are enabled and the device is online, the app occasionally sends anonymous usage information to our Google Firebase project: the device model, the operating system version, an approximate location (city and country, derived from the IP address), and information about how the app performs — crash reports and diagnostics.

You can turn this off in the app settings. If the app is offline, no data is collected at all.

Your bookmarks, notes, highlights and reading history are stored on your device. They are sent to the server only if you create an account and sign in yourself.

Account data

Signing in is optional: the app can be used fully without an account. An account only exists so that your bookmarks, notes and highlights are kept in sync across devices.

If you create an account, we store in Google Firebase your name, email address, an encrypted password and a user identifier, along with your bookmarks, notes, highlights and reading history.

You can delete your account and the data associated with it at https://app.only.bible/del/.

Do we share any information with outside services?

We do not sell or share the collected data with third parties. The data is processed by Google Firebase, which acts as our service provider on our behalf.

How do we protect the information we collect?

We take reasonable measures to protect against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or loss of data. Data is transmitted over a secure connection.
